One reason to take pictures is to record memories. The camera is a time machine.
Way back in 1969, before I could buy a Nikon and good lenses or color film, I took pictures of a Vietnam War protest at Staples High School in Connecticut where I was a student. They were featured in our High School yearbook.
I dug them up recently, scanned them in, and told some friends about them. Dan Woog wrote a thoughtful blog post incorporating these old photos. See his blog post titled “Hell No, We Won’t Go!”
In 1969 it seemed like the world was out of our control, but we still felt the need to let the world know we felt about the Vietnam war.
